More details have emerged about Atlanta rapper Archie Eversole’s death. WSBTV reports that Archie’s brother Alexander Kraus shot him and is being charged with his murder, according to DeKalb County Police. Officials say they initially responded to a Chevron gas station on Snapfinger Woods Drive, where they found Archie suffering from a gunshot wound on March 25th. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he passed away from his injuries on April 3rd.
As we reported yesterday, The Sun reported that Archie’s nephew Jordan Hughley confirmed the 37-year-old passed away.
In a statement, Jordan said, “He was a great and loving man. He was really genuine and loved everyone.” Jordan also shared a post on Facebook breaking the news, writing, “Dang Unk walking the stage this year for you fam I love you and miss you cuz rest up. Hurt me with this one. Arthur Archie Eversole.”
Archie was known for his 2002 hit ‘We Ready’ featuring Bubba Sparxxx, from his certified Gold album, ‘Ride Wit Me Dirty South Style.’ In 2018 he partnered with Major League Soccer team Atlanta United and released the song ‘United We Conquer,’ which was played after the team’s 4–0 win over Orlando City.
Atlanta United released a statement following his death stating,
“We are heartbroken to hear of the tragic passing of Archie Eversole. A staple in the Atlanta hip-hop scene, Archie adopted Atlanta United before our first season and continued to be one of our club’s most fervent supporters. In addition to his decorated musical career, his voice will long live in our supporters’ minds as ‘We Ready’ billows through the speakers for kick-off at Atlanta United matches. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.”
